Four sensitisation workshops on gender, CSGBV and GOHS including cyber security were conducted in Kilinochchi, Batticaloa, and Puttalam

With the aim to capacitate youth with knowledge on gender and cyber SGBV, CEJ organized four sensitisation workshops in Kilinochchi (9th September 2022), Batticaloa (10th September 2022), Puttalam (17th September 2022), and Anuradhapura (27th October 2022). These workshops aimed at capacitating youth with knowledge on gender; Gendered Online Hate Speech (GOHS) and Cyber Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (CSGBV), with the assumption that both victim-survivors and perpetrators/potential perpetrators were present in the groups. The resource persons, Kalyani Balathas, Sivatharsini Raveendran, and Naushalya Rajapaksha covered topics such as the difference between sex and gender, gender roles and stereotypes, forms of cyber SGBV and online hate speech. The workshops consisted of many activities to encourage participant engagement and active participation.
