CEJ facilitated seven full day capacity building workshops with officers from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on ‘Investigating and Prosecuting Gendered Impact of Sexual Bribery’. The workshops were held from June to August and capacitated a total of 178 officers (legal officers, prevention officers, investigation officers and legal assistants) from CIABOC. Attorney at Law Malsiri de Silva, Prasantha Lal de Alwis (President’s Counsel), Attorney at Law Asela Seresinghe, and Professor Wasantha Seneviratne conducted these workshops. Overall, the workshop highlighted the important areas of gender bias by adopting a victim survivor-centered approach when handling gender-sensitive cases. The workshop was received well by the officers and was highly evaluated.
