Youth, their parents, and grandparents gathered in three districts of the country to exchange their views and experiences of the war and ethnic conflict. The objective was to give an opportunity to the youth to learn and listen to first hand experiences of elders on ethnic conflict. Images of landmark events in Sri-Lanka’s post-independence history were displayed to start the conversation on personal memory and experiences. At this workshop, youth were given a platform to learn, debate and discuss issues such as reconciliation to catalyze them into future action. These workshops were held from March-July 2019 in Trincomalee, Moneragala, and Vavuniya.
