Our Executive Director, Shyamala Gomez, was honoured to participate in the National Labour Law Symposium 2026, hosted by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, which centred on evolving laws for an evolving workplace. Shyamala spoke on a panel focused on sexual harassment in employment, exploring strong policies and safeguards, how they can be effectively implemented. Shyamala stressed the importance of establishing a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of sexual harassment in the workplace and on setting up procedures that should be followed in anti sexual harassment committees. Panellists also discussed how sexual harassment in employment goes beyond individual outcomes, impacting workplace safety, employee retention, and overall productivity.
